Day34_Samstag/Saturday14Feb2009_To the Flohmarkt,Bremen Carnival & Flughafen Bremen

Even before Samstag/Saturday (14.2.09) both of us (me & WanF) had decided to visit Bremen flughafen/airport, just for a visit & 'see things' around. Ja...ever since we touched down at the flughafen on 12.1.09 we did not get the chance to move around the airport.

That Samstag we headed for the airport but since (as usual) there's the Saturday flohmarkt / flea market under the bridge (if you readers have been reading my blog, you know which flohmarkt I'm talking about ) so we decided to go there first then to the flughafen.
Back from the flohmarkt to Domsheide to take the tram to the flughafen, there was the Bremen Carnival starting at Roland statue along the Domsheide area(we did not know about that, though and no wonder the tram did not go through the route via the Domsheide on that day because it was closed to traffic) . We the Domshedie area, made our stop there, watched the beautiful procession going by, snapped interesting pictures then took the tram to the flughafen/airport. :-)

*At Bremen flughafen/airport.

Nice interior.
'Roland' has an outlet here at the flughafen selling furnitures.:-)
A food outlet called "Cucina's"
'Cuci' is 'to wash' in the Malay language.Probably while thinking of the restaurant name, the owner (a Malay?) was like saying to his/her daughther named Nina to 'cuci'/wash the dishes.
"Cuci Nina!" or "Nina, go wash the dishes!"
That was probably how the name "Cucina" came into being :-)
Just kidding,though:-P
Got excited with anything related to Werder Bremen's items....
...Roland statue's too.
Brother Lans & book on Roland statue :-)
...whatever it is, do not forget 24.Mai 2009!

We thought these guys were Malays from Malaysia. Both were ship crews & on their way back from US to the Philipines. Rolen (Roland?) works in the gully while F***** with maintenance. However, the middle one is pure Malay, hahaha!
Mati-mati Abg ingat Melayu! Patutlah bagi salam tak jawab! Org Filipino rupanya.

Happy Thaipusam to all my Hindu friends.Wed.23 Jan'08

It's the first time ever KL and Putrajaya 'celebrate' Thaipusam alongside neighbouring states like Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Johor and Perak. Places like Batu Caves must be very 'happening' with kavadi carriers and tourists.
Happy celebrating Thaipusam!

Ushering the New Years: 2008 & 1429Hijrah 'Back to Back' in 10 days.

New Year 2008.
10 days ago people around the globe ushered in 2008 with much enthusiasm(on the eve of 2008, 31st.Dec'2007). However, the jemaah or congregation at the Surau Al-Furqan Precinct 11 Putrajaya musollah ushered in 2008 by performing the solat hajat after the maghrib prayer . It was then followed by the recitation of Surah Yassin. After the Isyak prayers there was food & drinks 'sponsored' by the surau sports' club (someone told me this :-) ) at the newly built parking shelter. Alhamdullillah.

New Year 1429 Hijrah.
It was reported that the Prophet Mohammad PBUH advices Moslems to usher in the new Hijra year by performing the 'end of the year' doa after the asar (or late afternoon) prayer and the 'beginning of the year' doa after the mahgrib (or evening prayer) either alone or in congregation.
The Imam who lead the Asar prayer at this surau somewhere in a building in KL, read the printed out doa sheet after we had completed the Asar prayer.

At the Precinct 11 Surau Al-Furqan, Putrajaya, the maghrib prayers was followed by the solat hajat then the recitation of the Surah Yassin. Later after the Isyak prayer we had food and drinks at the newly built parking shelter. The turnout of the congregation was more than the usual Isyak prayers crowd :-)

Happy New Year 2008 to the whole world & 1429 Hijra to Moslems around the globe.
Let there be peace & May Allah Bless Us All!
