A Brief Encounter with the Angkasawan Dato' Dr.Sheikh Muszaphar@An-Nur Mosque Sibu Sarawak 29Aug'2008

Day 2 in Sibu during the Audit visit. Friday 29 Aug'2008.

I was taken by the Pusat GiatMARA manager Mr.Mat J*** to perform the Friday prayers at the An-Nur Mosque in Sibu.Before the start of the Friday sermon, in came 2 men from the main entrance to the front saf to perform the solat sunat.

It was the Angkasawan, Dato' Dr.Sheikh Muszaphar! The Dr. had flew in from Semenanjong to become the guest of honour of several functions organized by the mosque, school and associations.

After he had finished performing the solat sunat (I was too) and as he walks towards the entrance, I approached him, introduced myself "Assalamualaikum Doc, I'm ***lan from Putrajaya", the friendly Dr. replied my salam, shook hands, he said something and took picture.

After the Friday prayers the congregation (jemaah) gathered around him to shake hands (bersalam).Alhamdullilllah, it didn't occurred to me that I had to fly all the way from Putrajaya to Sibu to get the chance to meet him.:-)

Audit Visits to DSD's Accredited Centres in Sibu Sarawak.28&29Aug'2008

DAY 1. Thursday 28 Aug'2008.

The DSD Sarawak Regional office in Kuching had issued out list of accredited centers in Sarawak to be audited in the 'Audit Ketakakuran' exercise. I had 5 accredited centers to visit and I had decided to complete the task before the fasting month begins (on 1st.Oct'08). There was only the morning flight (earliest!) available to Sibu until the weekend.

Catching the first ERL train at 0542hrs at Putrajaya/Cyberjaya ERL station.
Checking in at KLIA.Using KLIA internet service. No conncetion! Arrrgh!*but I still smile*
Landing Sibu aitport.
Checked in at Kingwood Hotel,which is by the Rajang River.

Strolling along beautiful Rajang River.Jetty by the Rajang River. You can take the speed boat up to Kapit, Belaga etc.Called up Ed**** for tea.
