20 Januar 2009_To the ICT Dept.Universitat Bremen to rectify my laptop page loading problem

After the Bibliothek briefing at 1030hrs. I had to rush to see the ICT person who will help me to rectify my '6 months old Toshiba laptop' downloading page problem while using WLan at the Lise-Metner Gastehaus.

I asked colleague Wan F to accopmpany me to the ICT Dept. although hers' was okay. Though I had printed out the room's picture, I had to ask around for directions and a nice gentleman (a matured student like us too) even show us the way to the place right to the entance door (these building has many entrances and the construction going on made it difficult to enter from various points. *Lame excuses for being unable to find the way around,huh? :-)

At last before I enter, as usual, I'd start the introduction with...

"Entschuldigen Sie mich, können Sie Englisch bitte sprechen?"
"Ja?"
"Mein Laptop kann nicht webpage am Gästehaus herunterladen"
(No,I did not said that :-)
"My laptop cannot download webpage at the guest house".
"Let me see ........"

The nice gentleman checked the I.P address, asked me to keep the I.P details, the wireless network name and WEP key.

He clicked here clicked there and checked the wireless network connection status. "OK".

Less than 10 minutes or so, when we checked the network status, Thank God there are 'bytes received' meaning it's okay. However, I had to go back to the Gastehaus to check the downloading.

Thanked him. "Danke Schon".

He said "Come again tomorrow if it doesn't work".

We left the ICT room. We headed for the Gastehaus but decided to go to the city before it's dark. So, we leave our laptop at our room & hit for the tram station.

Checking for functionability

Later in the evening back from the city, I tried and Thank God, it worked. The laptop managed to dowload internet webpages.I can browse and do my internet research.
