College mate passed away

Friday 1st.Dec 06 , after Friday prayers as BrotherLans passed thru the Petronas gas station at Precinct 11 on the way back home from the surau, met architect friend who was fueling up her car. Wanted just to say 'hello' but since she was one of the 'nice and friendly' girls during college days, the brief conversation was not just 'hi hi, bye bye'. She told me that one of our former college mate Yusof Ahmad passed away last week. I was taken aback by the sad news and cause of death, which was cancer.He was 46. {Sigh} Innalillah wa innalillahhirajiun.... From God we came to God we return (literally translated). Yusof was my classmate at UTM Jalan Gurney (now Jalan Semarak) way back in 1978 when we were studying Diploma Architecture . He was from Perak( this I am sure or somewhere from the northern states). We were house mates in Kg.Bharu KL before. Like any achitecture students, all of us had our share of sleepless nights finishing up the projects/assignments and critics from the lecturers!( But it made us more mature to face criticism). Yusof joined the Public Works Dept. in Kuala Lumpur as a Technical Assistant until his last day. Since I left the Public Works Dept. or Jabatan Kerja Raya 4 years ago I have not been back to meet PWD guys. My architect friend said at every point in life we must be thankful to Allah for all his Blessings ( I agreed!) and she continued we must be kind to people & do good deeds to mankind.
