One of the 'activity' in my Ipoh 'must do' list (whenever it's back in Ipoh) is the Gerbang Malam visit! Gerbang Malam is Ipoh's daily night market and can be considered as one of the night life spot in Ipoh. 
This night market at Jalan Dato Tahwil, next to the 'padang permainan' / playground food court has 'everything for everyone' *so cliche :-) * from jeans, t-shirts,watches, perfumes, toys, lampu lip-lap-lip-lap to adorn houses during this festive seasons, 
locksets, 
slippers, shoes, spectacles, urut kaki or reflexology spots, stalls selling ubat kuat and much much more! Anyway, there are no stalls selling ori or pirated DVD's or CD's but there's a nearby shop at the corner selling DVD's CD's there. Carik sendiri!

The nearby Padang Permainan food court and Chinese stalls are open until midnight. The jaga kereta boys are active at this time too and with their assistance *grin* you can get a parking space bcos it's usually difficult to get a parking space at this hour. Jom jalan-jalan!
